| Protein in the form of albumin, which makes up the bulk of the protein present in blood serum and reporductive tract fluid , is added to tissue culture media because it is thought to maintain the stability of cell membranse and chelate trace amounts of toxic components present in the culture water, media components, and containers/culture dishes. Protien in the form of patient serum or albumin has been used extensively in media for IVF, GIFT, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo transfer, cryopreservation and sperm washing for IUI. |

| The product contains 100 mg/mL total protein in saline solution. Each lot of HSA is tested for pH (7.4 +/- 0.2) and osmolarity (280 +/- 10 mOsm/Kg water). All donors are individually tested for Hepatitis B surface antigen, antibodies to Hepatitis C and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1, HIV-2) by approved testing methods. The Human Albumin used in the preparation has been heated at 60C for ten hours. |
